Hey! It's Gracey! I'm still getting used to blogging, so I'm not really sure what to write! But I will give you the background on my self-portrait! =]]
So I feel like I have done so many self-portraits in the past that look exactly like me. And it's safe to say that I'm not a huge fan of that! So I took this opportunity to go ahead and switch it up a little bit... I chose to do a very simple face, with hardly any allusion to me at all. I figured if I cannot figure out who I am, how am I supposed to define myself to others? Hmmm.. So I chose to use my two favorite colors, red and black, and a simple face made of only lines (which I have used previously in some of my artwork and sketches). It kind of has an African mask type of feel, but I just really like the style- simplistic, bold lines!
