Cassie's Altar

My Altar is dedicated to Christmas. Since living in Chicago, I've focused on a lot of serious stuff. A lot of my projects have serious undertones to them with important messages that I'm trying to get across. But since Thanksgiving ended, all I can focus on is my favorite holiday. I absolutely love Christmas and everything about it. It's the only time of the year where I let myself watch Elf, A Christmas Story, and all of those other cheesy, festive movies. The twenty-five days of Christmas on ABC family could possibly be my biggest time of the year to watch TV. Everyone is happy during Christmas time because the streets are lit up and it makes winter endurable. In my altar, I've emphasized the lighting, the color scheme and the content. I made the only lighting christmas lights to give the whole feeling, "I'm standing under mistletoe, this is awkward but I still like it" ambiance. Also, I've only included red and green items; for example the tree, the red pillow, the green strings, etc. My favorite part would have to be the mini christmas tree because its the main iconic symbol for this commercial holiday. Yes, I acknowledge that this is a commercial holiday, but it's half of what feeds our economy for the entire year, so my mentality is to go with it. Lastly, this entire setup is stationed on top of my record player, because that is where the best Christmas records are blasted during the month of December.
