I've had a lot on my mind recently with the end of the semester fast approaching and a lot of it has to do with a ...well, simpler time. I'm often thinking about how much I have and have had to grow up these past couple of months, and every time the topic arises I actually get really emotional, although it's hard to tell outwardly. Before you actually have to grow up, the idea of it sounds cool and exciting, but it's really difficult to let go of what you've known for 18+ years! My altar is comprised of Simple things that made a huge impact on me and in me. All of the items have are very emotionally charged and have many many memories. Items ranging from the time I was around 5yrs old until right before I began attending SAIC.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to commemorate your past. Many cultures have a right of passage when children begin to pass from childhood to becoming adults.I am glad that your alter gave you time for reflection about this transition in your life.
